  • I am eighteen today!, marking the end to the most
anticlimactic year I’ve lived. But promise is nascent, nearing. Immediately:
donning pearls, pumps, perfect cocktail dress and heading and breading (new verb use?) here, followed by the
annual Birthday Book Binge (any suggestions? I need life-altering literature). In the Interim: A summer spent defining and redefining, and hopefully not too
Britomartian of one, in several senses of the description. And Finally: New
    England
. Academia. All the incredible Holyoke
’08 ladies I’ve been chatting with, the Latin scholars and the Francophiles and
the Kundera fiends. Weekends in the Village with Emily, Kris, Kris’s bizarre
friends. Dibs on Zach’s most Humanities-centered Harvard roomie. Living!!!

  • Happy Birthday dearest. Nice pic - your cute.

  • WHOOOO-HOOOOO! SARAH'S LEGAL! YEAH, BABY!

(p.s.- when you get a chance, will you purchase me some cigarettes/ suprevise me in a public pool?)

  • "Your cute" what, Ethan? Sweater? Face? You left me hanging!

  • happy happy happy birthday to my fellow florida may-baby!

re: book binge...i've happened upon katherine ann porter's short stories and are thoroughly enjoying them. doris betts, a writer and UNC profesora from my temporary neck of the woods. i'm in process, so i make no promises for "life-altering"

    enjoy living my dear!

  • happy birthday beautiful! plus it's not like you have a list of guys to date or anything.....

  • I don't have a list of guys to date, thankyouverymuch! The document you may be offhandedly referring to happens to be the cell phone numbers of acquaintances' sons who attend Amherst, but I don't intend to put them to use. You know my Saturday nights will sadly be spent surrounded by girls and watching Y Tu Mama Tambien or something comparable. I fear my milkshake won't bring all the boys to the women's college :)

  • Erin, I dunno - the white thing on her head...the happy yet sexy grin and the way her hair slightly covers her face...I dunno - she looks very cute. Nice smile, too.

  • Ethan, dearest, I think she was making a(n evidently all too) subtle, playful jab at your chronic use of the possessive "your" rather than the contraction "you're," but we love you all the same and you can attempt to pinpoint my apparent cuteness any day :)

  • Happy Birthday!!!

  • birthday, yay! but darling, who *will* be brought to holyoke by your incredible milkshake then?

  • ANYONE WHO WILL HAVE ME, Jules dearest :)

  • Goodness, I can't sound that desperate yet, it's not even September. I'm the girl who whispered "Why'd they stop?" to her mother on the tour when the guide was discussing the outdated practice of bussing in boys from neighboring Ivies, and was consequently grilled by the other girls in my group.

  • I watched sex and the city all afternoon and you ARE charlotte....good god child!

And also please don't regret not choosing Wellsley, the guys will come to you.
