Erin, have a
marvelous time in Mexico, traverse those Mayan ruins like no other, and
return with a plentitude of photoessay material and we’ll stay up late
listening to Simon and Garfunkel and you know the drill.
I just recalled something: remember when your neighborhood had that whole mess with the mailboxes? Holler back, I have forgotten the funny details, and only remember that it was laugh-inducing.
Godsistah!!!! The Homeowner’s Association was concerned that the introduction of a slightly-deeper-shade-of-Sienna-hued boxes, implemented by 5 or 6 neighbors whose boxes had been vanadlized or were rotting (ew!) or something else unfortunate would pose a threat to the uniformity of our pristine, ever-pruned tropical *commune*. So they proposed that we either: a.) all upgrade to the slightly-deeper-shade-of-Sienna-hued boxes, as the need to replace them would likely arise within the next 2-3 years due to climate-induced weathering anyway b.) ask the handful of residents who had implemented replacement boxes to revert back to the Standard Sienna Hue, or c.) All switch to something entirely different and infinitely more durable.
The options were detailed on a larger-than standard-letter-sized sheet of paper in BOLD PRINT, denoting the IMPERATIVE NATURE OF RESPONDING IMMEDIATELY TO THIS PREDICAMENT!!! and distributed door-by-door on an evening when you were sleeping over (after my lengthy dance team competition practice! *the agony!*)
STINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Llama, not the animal.
balzac! also, funny anecdotes. ah, to be young again, but just one week more…
Wow…homeowner’s association…weird…I don’t think we even have one around here.
